NEWMARKET INTERFAITH FORUM

Firstly welcome to those who have made contact recently. It is great that this forum is becoming better known and more people are getting involved. If there are others you think may be interested in hearing about NIFF and our work in the community in and around Newmarket, do let them know and pass on their details to me.

Our next meeting is next Monday 23 July from 9.30am to 11am, once again in the parish rooms at the Roman Catholic Church of Our Lady Immaculate & St Etheldreda, but this time in the bar area as that should give us a little more space. The easiest way to find it is across the courtyard once you enter the parish rooms, but there will be people around to help.

There are lots of great things to share and opportunities coming up, including the fantastic news that Abdul and a team from NIFF were able to help in the community by tidying the garden of a gentlemen who had recently died, in order that friends could gather at his home following the funeral.

Coming up we have the Inter-Faith cricket match at the Severals, permission for which we are very grateful to have received from the Town Council, on Sunday 30 September; and our next Inter-Faith celebration, earmarked for Sunday 20 January 2019. Do spread the word! Arrangement for these are coming together, and we can report back next Monday.

One other thing to bring to your attention: Meet up Mondays are now taking place at the café at the Abbeycroft Leisure Centre on the Exning Road every Monday 11-1. Do signpost people to this, particularly the lonely or isolated. See www.meetupmondays.org.uk for more information.

And finally a reminder that the consultation period for our proposed constitution closes on Friday, so do submit your responses before then, or speak to me or Mave directly: https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/WJ76V6L
