“INTRODUCTION TO SAFEGUARDING”

October 17th from 12:00 noon till 3:00 PM

THE GURU NANAK GURDWARA, BRAMFORD ROAD, IPSWICH.

(Arranged by the Safeguarding Board of Suffolk County Council and the East of England Faiths Agency)

The Safeguarding Board of Suffolk County Council is under an obligation to make faith groups aware of the importance of safeguarding training and of the need for Safeguarding Officers to be appointed within each community.

As you are probably aware, some institutions have got into great difficulties because they did not have proper systems in place to protect children and vulnerable adults and were not fulfilling their responsibilities.  EEFA is helping the County Council to reach out to all religious groups in Suffolk to make sure that they are fully briefed and complying with the law.

There are places for 40 attendees.   It is hoped that a couple of people from each faith group might sign up. (We hope to arrange other introductory sessions elsewhere so that all faiths have the opportunity to attend one of them.)
